Christ Our Savior Parish was formed on July 1, 2019 by the combination of the former parishes of Holy Ghost in South Holland, St. Mary Queen of Apostles in RIverdale and St. Jude the Apostle in South Holland, which were extinguished. It was briefly known as Holy Ghost and Saints Mary and Jude Parish until the new name was chosen by Cardinal Blase Cupich and approved by the Presbyteral Council. The parish originally had three worship sites, Holy Ghost Church, Queen of Apostles Church and St. Jude the Apostle Church.
Holy Ghost Church and Queen of Apostles Church are now closed. St. Jude the Apostle Church serves as the only worship site for the new parish.
