Mission Statement
Our religious education program is dedicated to the formation of the Catholic life of our youth by proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ in word and action. We will share our faith and love of our Church with our children. In partnership with their parents we will lay the foundation of a life of faith and service to God and His Holy People.
Program Information
Our Religious Education program assists the parents who are the primary religious educator of their children. Students that attend public school should receive eight years of formal religious instruction. During these eight years the knowledge of our Catholic faith is what builds the foundation for their future in our Church. Family participation at weekend mass and daily prayer is an essential element of faithful people of all ages. The catechists teaching the children are dedicated volunteers who give of their time to aid parents in the Religious Education of your children and need your support.
ATTENDANCE - Classes are held on Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. It is important that students attend class as scheduled and be punctual, as our time together is limited. Attendance is also required at the monthly 10:30 Sunday Family Mass. If a student has 3 unexcused absences from class or Mass they will be unable to move to the next level or receive a Sacrament that year.
HOMEWORK/FAMILY PROJECTS - At times during the year your child will be given assignments that must be done outside of class time. We ask you to encourage and supervise their work.
DISCIPLINE - Students are expected to be cooperative and courteous in class. Cell phones are not to be on during class time. If any student’s behavior interferes with the learning atmosphere of the class, he/she will be warned. If misbehavior continues the parent will be notified.
DISMISSAL - Students must be met in the lobby of the church for you to sign them out. If a child must be dismissed from class early, please send a note informing us of the time you will be in the lobby.
FOLDERS - Folders are given to all students on the first day of class. They should be brought to each class. Please check them each week after class for important notes.
SACRAMENTS - Archdiocesan policy requires two years of preparation before receiving the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation. Our sacramental programs also require parent attendance at the preparation meetings as a condition of the student’s participation.
TUITION – Full tuition or half of the total amount due at registration.
